Do we need to make reservations for the festival?
For the 2023 edition, no reservations are necessary. However we strongly advise you to register for the opening night so that we can determine the number of people coming.
When does the festival take place?
The festival takes place every year in the third or fourth week of March. The 2023 edition will take place from 20 to 26 March.
Where does the festival take place?
The event is held every year at the following address: Université Libre de Bruxelles - Campus du Solbosch - Avenue Jeanne 44, 1050 Brussels, in the Dupréel room, on the first floor of the S building.
To get there, you can either take Avenue Jeanne or go through the Solbosch campus.
How do I get to the festival venue by public transport?
Is the festival accessible to people with reduced mobility?
There is access for people with reduced mobility, the organisers will direct you to the site if necessary during the week of the festival.
How much does it cost to enter?
The Festival du Film Scientifique de Bruxelles is free.
What are the screening times?

What languages are the documentaries in?
We show the documentaries either in English with French subtitles or in French with English subtitles.
What level of experience do you need to have to go?
The festival aims to be accessible to everyone. During the day, the screenings are reserved for primary and secondary schools, the rest of the time for anyone interested in science. To help you understand the documentary, a pdf with a list of important words for each film is included in the film descriptions, located in the festival programme, but it is not essential for understanding.
Do you sell foods and drinks?
We sell food throughout the week (vegan or vegetarian food, soft drinks, beer and water - the latter free of charge). For drinks, we ask you to bring your own container, or you can ask us for a cup for a deposit of 1 euro, exchangeable at the end of the evening.
Do you sell souvenirs?
Yes, we sell FFSB cups and thermoses. We also give away free FFSB pens and stickers.
I would like to take part in the photo competition, how do I go about it?
The photo contest is only open for a limited period before the festival itself. In order to be kept informed, we invite you to subscribe to our newsletter.
I'm trying to register for the photo contest but it doesn't work. What can I do?

How will we be informed if our film proposal is selected for the festival?
We will contact you by email around October/November to obtain the broadcasting rights if your film has been selected for our programme.

I would like to help the festival, what can I do?
If you are a student, we invite you to be part of the team for the next edition! Every year the team is looking for new people to be part of the team and discover the behind-the-scenes. We post a message on our social networks saying that applications are open!
Other ways to support us are simply to come to the festival every year, to leave us your opinion to improve the next edition or by buying our merchandise.
